Clash Verge vs ClashX vs Clash for Windows: What's the Difference?
Searching “Clash Verge vs ClashX” or “Clash for Windows vs Clash Verge”? You’re picking a client. Bottom line: Clash Verge Rev is the pick today — here’s why.
The difference in one table
| Client | Platforms | Kernel | Maintenance |
|---|---|---|---|
| Clash Verge (Rev) | Windows / macOS / Linux | Mihomo | ✅ active |
| ClashX | macOS only | original Clash / Meta (fork) | ⚠️ original archived; ClashX Meta is a community fork |
| Clash for Windows | Windows / macOS / Linux | original Clash | ❌ discontinued |
Background: the original Clash core was taken down in 2023, and the ecosystem moved to Mihomo (Clash.Meta). Clash Verge Rev is the active client tracking Mihomo, so it’s best for new protocols and long-term support.
